Terms of service

These terms govern your use of PeselCheck. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The service

PeselCheck is a tenant-verification and rental-workflow platform. Tenants can verify their identity and build a consent-managed rental history. Landlords can request access to that history under an explicit tenant consent and manage their rental portfolio.

2. Account eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract under Polish law. Landlord accounts must provide accurate company information. PESEL numbers entered by tenants must be their own.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to (a) impersonate another person; (b) submit false ratings about tenants you never rented to; (c) use the data obtained under consent for any purpose other than evaluating the specific rental decision for which consent was granted; (d) scrape, reverse-engineer or resell the service; (e) circumvent rate limits or access controls.

4. Consent and data access

Access to another user's personal data is strictly gated by explicit, revocable consent. Using data beyond the scope or duration of that consent is a violation of these terms and applicable data-protection law.

5. Ratings and disputes

Landlords may rate tenants only after a contract they had on the platform has ended. Ratings must be truthful and based on facts. Tenants can dispute a rating; a disputed rating is reviewed by an administrator. PeselCheck reserves the right to remove or adjust ratings that breach these terms or applicable law.

6. Fees

The service may include free and paid features. Pricing, if any, is shown before you incur a charge. Taxes apply per Polish law.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, harm other users, or pose a security or legal risk. You can delete your account at any time from the settings.

8. Liability

PeselCheck provides the platform "as is" within the limits of Polish and EU law. We do not guarantee that a given tenant will honour the lease, that a rating is accurate, or that a landlord is a good landlord. We are not a party to any lease contract between users.

9. Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by Polish law. Disputes with consumers may be brought before the consumer's local court; disputes with businesses are subject to the court with jurisdiction over PeselCheck's registered office.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
